Four Months of LoreMotion — What We Shipped, What Changed, What's Next

2026-09-14 · 19 min read · LoreMotion Team

Four months after launching on 11 May 2026, LoreMotion has ~200k GA4 users, 1.3M views, ~600k generations, 62k+ accounts, two free GPU models, and a premium catalog. Honest numbers, the features that landed, and why we're raising to keep the free lane strong.

Anniversaries are for years. This is a four-month milestone: 11 May 2026 to now. Public launch, first strangers in the queue, then a summer of shipping on top of a product that was already being used.

For the founder this is still a first — the first product with AI at the centre, built in public, used on other continents before the paint was dry. The rest of this post is what the numbers and the product look like from the inside: what we brought, what changed, and what we want to fund next.

What LoreMotion is (one breath)

LoreMotion is a free, ad-supported AI video (and image) generator. The free lane now runs two models on our own GPUs: LTX-Video 2.5 (720p, synced audio) and MiniMax H3 (480p up to 5s free; Clean / Executive unlock longer or 720p). Optional Clean and Executive plans remove ads. Credit plans and packs unlock premium models (Veo, Kling, Grok, Gemini Omni Flash, and the image tiers). Storyboard is live for subscribers — multi-shot canvas, continue-from-frame, one export. Tagline we still mean: bring your lore to motion.

You can start on /generate without an account. The story below is ours.

How it started: r/StableDiffusion

The public launch was a post on r/StableDiffusion: I built a site to create free AI videos using LTX 2.3 running on my own GPUs. Four of my own cards, rented A100s when it spiked, ads as “the catch,” Discover, a 48-hour dashboard, and a promise that generations would stay unlimited. It did about 196 upvotes and 177 comments. That thread is still the honest origin story.

Original r/StableDiffusion post announcing LoreMotion as a free LTX 2.3 site running on the founder’s own GPUs.
May 2026, r/StableDiffusion. LTX 2.3, own GPUs, ads, no credit wall.

The comments that stuck were not trolls. They were the business model, said out loud.

Reddit comment: You understand that multi-billion dollar labs don’t offer this because it burns money, right?
Highest-voted doubt in the thread. Fair. Labs sell APIs. We host weights.
Reddit comment saying LoreMotion is about to go bankrupt, and the founder’s reply: thanks, use it while you can.
We did not pretend otherwise. “Use it while you can” was the honest hedge.
Reddit comment arguing ads cannot recoup GPU costs because of ad blockers and tiny payouts, and that abuse is inevitable.
Ads are thin. Adblock is real. Abuse showed up. We still run the free lane.

They were not wrong about the physics. GPU time is expensive. Display ads do not look like a Series A slide. Open-weight video is a magnet for people who want to see what the filter will let through. Multi-billion-dollar labs do not hang an unlimited LTX endpoint on the public internet, because the unit economics are ugly.

What they under-counted is that “ugly unit economics” can still be a product if you own the boxes, keep the clip short, take the ad, and refuse to turn the free model into a credit faucet. Four months later the site is up. LTX got a 2.5 upgrade. A second free model (MiniMax H3) has its own queue. Abuse is a moderation stack, not a surprise. And yes — we are raising in part because $8/day was a launch-week number, not a September one.

The rest of this post is the receipt.

The numbers (11 May – 14 Sep 2026)

Rounded for humans. Traffic is Google Analytics 4 (this year, which in practice is launch → now — the line is flat until May). Accounts and jobs are our production database. Both analytics pixels went in a bit late, so the traffic figures are a floor, not a ceiling.

Google Analytics 4 overview: about 200 thousand users, 1.3 million views, 73.4 percent engagement rate since launch.
GA4 home, 14 Sep 2026 — this year. The last dip is an incomplete current period, not a collapse.
Metric First four months
Users (GA4) ~200,000
Views (GA4) ~1.3 million
Engagement rate (GA4) ~73%
Bounce rate (GA4) ~27%
Signed-up accounts 62,000+ (~67,000 in auth)
Generations (rounded) ~600,000

PostHog, which also started late, independently shows the same shape at a smaller count (~112k visitors, ~577k pageviews). We publish GA4 as the headline because it caught more of the summer. We do not average the two or invent a “true” unique number in between.

Around day 90 we had on the order of 25k accounts. The extra month more than doubled that. August was the breakout; September is already tracking like it wants to beat August. The GA4 chart matches the signup table: quiet until May, a lift through June–July, then a steep climb from August.

Signup pace by month (calendar months, Sep through the 14th):

Month New accounts
May 2026 ~2,200
June 2026 ~4,400
July 2026 ~13,800
August 2026 ~29,900
September 2026 (to date) ~16,500

Generation throughput (honest framing)

We delete finished jobs after a short retention window so storage and privacy stay sane. That means the jobs table is not a lifetime counter.

What we can say from live data around this milestone:

If every day since 11 May had been as busy as today, we would be around ~600,000 jobs created. May–July were quieter, so treat that as a rounded upper bound from today’s pace — not a row count in Postgres. We still do not keep a lifetime ledger.

Free LTX and H3 are still the heartbeat. Premium (Veo / Kling / Grok / Omni Flash / image) is a real but smaller slice — paid quality on top of a free core, not the other way around.

Where people come from

We do not have a clean all-time GA4 country table in this snapshot. PostHog’s ranking (same window, incomplete pixel) is still the best ordered list we trust for share of traffic:

Rank Country
1 India
2 United States
3 Germany
4 Pakistan
5 Brazil
6 France
7 United Kingdom
8 Nigeria
9 Egypt
10 Türkiye

Creators in South Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Africa still share the same queue. Brazil climbed. A GA4 realtime slice while writing this post had India, the United States, Brazil, and Egypt on the board at once — the same mix, live. That was never a whiteboard GTM slide; it is what free + useful tends to do.

Paid Clean / Executive and credit subscribers are still an early layer next to free usage. The growth story at four months is reach, daily renders, and two free models — not a polished ARR slide.

Nobody paid for this

We did not sponsor tutorials. No affiliate codes, no “paid partnership” tags, no creator brief. People found the site and recorded walkthroughs in English, Hindi, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Telugu, Bangla, Spanish, and Sinhala. One of those YouTube videos already has 43k+ views. That is the same shape as the country table above — India, Brazil, and the rest of the queue showing up on camera without us booking a slot.

This is a sample, not a directory. YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and random blogs are full of them; listing every Reel would take a week and still be stale by Friday. Indexed Instagram (@loremotionai) and TikTok (loremotion.ai) hits are our own accounts — we are not counting those as coverage. Everything below is someone else.

A Google search for LoreMotion tutorial site:youtube.com is a wall of other people’s thumbnails:

Google search results for LoreMotion tutorial site:youtube.com showing independent YouTube walkthroughs by AIForNewbies, Visionary Eyes, Technology in hindi, SmartAI Tech, and Technical Berwal.
Google, 16 Sep 2026. None of these channels are us. None of them were paid.

YouTube’s own results page looks the same — search “loremotion AI” and the first rows are independent tutorials, not an official channel dump:

YouTube, 16 Sep 2026. AIForNewbies, Technology in hindi, Technical Berwal — all organic.

Thumbnails from a sample of those videos. Click through if you want the original; we did not ask them to make any of this.

That last one is a useful tell: people mishear the name and still ship a tutorial.

Instagram is the same story once you are actually in the app. @aiforyou_4 posted a Reel — Make free & unlimited AI Video Generator without watermark — 252 likes, 330 comments, pointing at their YouTube. We did not ask them to.

Instagram, 16 Sep 2026. One Reel. There are many more we did not open.

Written coverage we also did not commission: iHub Guru’s Lore Motion guide (10 Sep 2026), wan2.video’s model/limits writeup, The Neural Feed reprinting the Reddit launch, and Revid’s LoreMotion explainer — a competitor ranking an “alternative” page against us, which is its own kind of receipt.

What shipped in four months

A non-exhaustive list. Day one was a prompt box, a queue, and LTX. The rest arrived while people were already generating.

The free lane

The product around the clip

Storyboard (shipped 5 August)

One clip is a demo. A sequence that still looks like the same person is the product. Storyboard shipped in v2.4.8: a node canvas (keyframe stills, shot clips, export stitch), edges that both order the cut and hand the last frame to the next generate, continue-from-a-frame-you-picked, a timeline at the bottom, one MP4 out. Free LTX/H3 jobs run on the board the same as on /generate; Veo / Kling / Grok / stills spend credits the same way. It is a subscriber surface (Clean, Executive, or a credit plan) — sign-in plus a plan, not a hidden lab.

The beginner path is in How to make a multi-shot AI video.

LoreMotion Storyboard: node canvas of stills and clips with a timeline export underneath.
Storyboard: boxes are shots, lines are memory, the strip at the bottom is the cut.

Premium, when you want it

Trust, because we run the weights

Hosted APIs ship moderation. Self-hosted LTX and H3 do not. We own the output, so we own the gates: prompt blocklists, pixel checks, post-render stills, and — since this summer — translating non-English prompts before the regex layer so the same rules apply in more than one language.

The line that matters is not “is this edgy.” Gore, satire, and a bikini described from scratch in text-to-video are not the same class of harm as taking a real person’s photo and making them do or wear something they did not consent to. That is why image-to-video gets extra gates the rest of the product does not: clothing-swap into swimwear/underwear, intimate-act prompts on an uploaded likeness, and a hard block on CSAM, weapons, and deepfake-NSFW that never gets skipped — including on premium jobs. The long version is how we moderate.

Four months of product is mostly plumbing. The glamorous list above sits on webhooks, workers, refunds, two GPU claim paths, and a lot of “why is the H3 queue at 80 again?”

What we learned (still true, plus one)

GPUs are a product surface. Users do not care that a render takes 35 seconds of kernel time if they waited four minutes in a pending queue. Throughput and honesty about wait time matter as much as model quality. Adding H3 did not retire that lesson — it split the load and created a second place to be honest.

Free and paid have to stay friends. Ads fund free LTX and H3. Clean / Executive exist to remove them. Credits buy premium models. Mixing those signals — or flashing ads before /api/me settles — erodes trust faster than a slow queue.

Open models need a safety stack you own. Keyword lists alone fail, especially once prompts are not in English. Layered gates are the job.

Two free models changed the shape of demand. People pick H3 or LTX for different looks. That is the point. It also means capacity planning is no longer “one worker fleet, one queue.” Raising to own more of the metal is not a vanity round; it is how the free lane stays free.

Building in public is loud. The first loud room was Reddit. Support mail, Polar invoices that almost grant credits, “is H3 720p on Clean yet?”, and a queue graph at midnight came after. That noise is the product working.

What's next — and why we're raising

Ads, Clean / Executive, and credits keep today’s boxes on. They do not buy a rack, a distill run, a native app, or a detector that still works after the file leaves our CDN. We are opening a seed / angel conversation to fund five concrete builds, not a vague “AI studio.”

Mini datacentres we operate. Launch week was four of our own 30/40-series cards plus spot A100s. That is still the shape: consumer GPUs we own, H3 on its own fleet, premium jobs we do not run ourselves. The raise is to stop living on other people’s spot market. Small colocated racks — known SKUs, our NVMe, our queue split (LTX vs H3 vs whatever we add), our janitor, our heartbeat steal. Power from sites that can take a renewable mix or a green tariff when that energy is actually on the grid. When it is not, we still render. We are not selling a carbon-offset slide; we are choosing colos that can run clean hours instead of pretending a rented 3090 in a random basement is a climate plan.

LoRAs and distills for our traffic, not the lab’s demo reel. We already host LTX-Video 2.5 Distilled and MiniMax H3 as shipped. The next weights should be ours: LoRAs and further-distilled checkpoints fitted to what this userbase actually generates — 9:16 shorts, 5–10s clips, image-to-video from phone photos, prompts that are not English. Fewer denoising steps where quality holds. Motion / camera adapters in the IC-LoRA style instead of hoping the base model parses “dolly in.” Style packs that are files on disk, not prompt folklore. Same safety stack, because we still own the output.

iOS and Android apps that are not a squeezed website. /generate is a React SPA. It works on a phone; it is not built for one. Native apps: generate, queue position, library, push when a job finishes, Storyboard that you can actually tap. Same API, same credits, same moderation. If the free lane is the company, it has to live where people already record and post.

Agentic mode: one prompt → a finished sequence. Storyboard is the graph you fill by hand — keyframe, shot, continue-from-frame, export stitch. Agentic is a planner on top of that graph: decompose the prompt into shots, generate stills, run i2v / continue with the chosen frames as memory, stitch one MP4. Not a chat window. A job. The roadmap still lists this as prompt-to-storyboard; Storyboard shipping in August is what makes it buildable instead of a research poster. The same planner has to inherit the i2v consent gates — a one-prompt pipeline that quietly clothing-swaps an uploaded face is a worse product, not a smarter one.

Moderation that still means something after the MP4 is downloaded. Keeping LoreMotion itself clean is table stakes: we already refuse CSAM, weapons, and deepfake-NSFW on every job; we already treat unconsented likeness edits as a different problem from “someone typed bikini.” That is not enough. Abuse does not stay on our domain. A clip that we should never have rendered, or that we did render and then deleted, can still be re-uploaded to YouTube, Telegram, or a forum we do not run. The raise is to treat that as an engineering surface: signed provenance on files we do emit so other platforms can refuse or label them; better detectors for non-consensual intimate imagery and identity misuse when the prompt has been laundered through another language or another model; sharing the pieces that generalize (normalization, i2v consent gates, post-render sampling) instead of pretending a keyword list is a public good. We cannot moderate the internet. We can stop being a convenient GPU for the part of it that uses AI to strip, fake, or sexualize people who did not agree. Identity-locked celebrity porn and an uncensored fork are not on the roadmap. They will not be.

If you invest in infrastructure companies: small team, real daily usage, two self-hosted video models, a premium catalog we do not have to run, and a subscriber canvas we do. If that is your kind of round, team@loremotion.com — subject line seed is fine.

We are not selling a fake lifetime video count, and we are not pretending paid is the business yet. The raise is metal, weights, clients, and a safety stack that does not end at our URL.

If you have been generating since May, or you just landed today: thank you. Four months only mean something because strangers used the thing.

Try it

See you at month six — still not calling it an anniversary.

FAQ

Is LoreMotion still free after four months?

Yes. LTX 2.5 and MiniMax H3 stay free and ad-supported. Clean / Executive remove ads and unlock longer / 720p H3. Credits unlock premium models. The free core is the product, not a trial bait.

How do you make money today?

Advertising on free generations, optional ad-removal plans, and credit subscriptions / packs for premium models. We do not sell your prompts as a dataset.

Why raise if ads already exist?

Ads pay for the current boxes. They do not buy a colocated rack, a LoRA/distill run, or native iOS/Android clients. The raise is for mini datacentres we operate (renewable mix when the site actually has it), weights fitted to this userbase, apps that are not a squeezed SPA, an agentic planner on top of the Storyboard graph we already shipped, and moderation that still works after someone downloads the file — unconsented likeness, CSAM, deepfake-NSFW — not just a clean homepage.

Do you allow NSFW or deepfakes of real people?

No for the cases that actually matter. CSAM, weapons, and deepfake-NSFW are hard blocks on every job, including premium. Image-to-video of an uploaded person plus “change their clothes / make them kiss” is treated as non-consent, not as a spicy prompt. Text-to-video can still do ordinary creative work (including some adult-adjacent phrasing we deliberately leave open) because that is not the same harm as editing a real likeness. We cannot police every site on the internet; we can refuse to be the GPU that makes that file.

Where are most users from?

India and the United States lead, then Germany, Pakistan, and Brazil, with strong presence across Europe, Nigeria, Egypt, and Türkiye. GA4 and PostHog agree on the mix even when the absolute counts differ. It is a global free tool, not a single-market launch.

How many videos have you generated in total?

We do not have a forever counter. Finished jobs expire after about 48 hours (longer on Clean / Executive / Discover), so Postgres cannot answer “all time.”

What we can bound: recent days create ~4,500 jobs per day. Extrapolating that pace backward over the whole four months, rounded up, is about ~600k. May–July were slower, so that is a ceiling from today’s rate, not a stamped ledger. A round “one million” would need roughly 8k creates every day since launch, which we do not see in the live table.

Did Reddit call it — are you bankrupt yet?

Not yet. The r/StableDiffusion thread was right that ads are a thin margin, abuse is real, and labs do not give this away. It was wrong that those facts are an expiry date. The free lane is still unlimited. We are raising to keep it that way, not to put LTX behind a paywall.

Why call this a milestone instead of an anniversary?

Anniversaries mark years. Four months mark survival, two free models, and the first stretch of real usage. We will save “anniversary” for when the candles need a bigger cake.

Did you pay YouTubers / TikTok / Instagram to talk about LoreMotion?

No. No sponsorships, no affiliate codes, no creator briefs. The tutorials, Reels, and writeups in this post were found on 16 Sep 2026. This is a sample — YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok have more than we will ever list. Our own @loremotionai / loremotion.ai posts are not counted as coverage.
